New Snatching Strategy

Well, it was new to me. Let me share. I experienced it, first hand.

I was on my way home from work. I rode the bus from Buendia to Las Piñas, it was kinda full, so I sat at the way back, in front of the 6-seat seat, on the aisle seat of a 3-seat seat (bus riders would know what I mean). The bus was full already, so new comers had to stand up. I was listening on my sister's iPod.

Then there was this guy who came, stood beside me. He was carrying a plastic full (not really full) of cartolina. Violet cartolina. And he was actually bluntly covering my face with the cartolina, to the point that what I could only see was violet, and my peripherals. Then there was this other guy, who kept on asking if there was still a seat beside me. Eh duh, it was pretty obvious that we were full already. And he was very insistent. I thought he was either drunk or high with drugs. Then I felt something on my left breast pocket in my polo. My cellphone was there.

Fortunately, my company ID was there too. The stupid asshole grabbed my ID, instead of my phone. I instantly (more like involuntarily) touched my pocket with my right hand. Then I heard a "tsk." It had to be a pretty loud tsk, cos I was listening on the iPod and you know me when I listen to music. Then the two guys left the bus.

And that's when things became clear to me. The guy carrying the cartolina was an accomplice. He deliberately covered my face with the cartolina so I wouldn't see his pal's hand grabbing my phone. It's really pretty hard to describe here. I'm hoping you get the idea, so you won't be a victim of this. Spread the word!

Of course, I admit that it was stupid of me to put my cellphone in my polo pocket. I usually put it in my pants, but my slacks pockets were shallow. But I was really fighting the urge to shout out to the guys, "Tanga ng kamay mo, magpractice ka pa!"

Anyway, I wouldn't deny that I didn't feel scared. I was shocked, really, that's why I wasn't able to trash-talk them.
